Over the next five years, the agreement is expected to double tourist arrivals to Morocco, with a growth rate of around 220%.

Rabat – The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) announced, on Tuesday, the signing of a partnership agreement with the international tourism group TUI, with the aim of promoting tourism activities in Morocco.

Over the next five years, the agreement is expected to double tourist arrivals to Morocco, with a growth rate of around 220%, the ONMT statement highlights.

Under the agreement, OMNT and TUI Group will carry out mutual projects that will double the number of tourists arriving in Morocco from France, and triple the number of tourists arriving in the North African country from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium.

TUI Group currently manages the trips of around 210,000 European tourists arriving in Morocco. Thanks to the new partnership, the number of tourists will approach half a million customers.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of ONMT, Adel El Fakir, and the President and CEO of TUI Group, Sebastian Ebel.

Commenting on the signing of the agreement, El Fakir said that the agreement is an important milestone for ONMT and Moroccan tourism. “TUI is undoubtedly a leading operator whose impact in terms of volume is significant for the sector,” he said.

According to El Fakir, the agreement "will increase the number of tourists coming to Morocco through the TUO Group and also predicts similar commitments from many other travel prescribers."

TUI Group is an international company specialized in travel and tourism. The group operates 1,600 travel agencies, online websites, 400 hotels, as well as six airlines.
