On the sidelines of the international tourism fair in Berlin, ONMT signs four strategic agreements with key players in the German tourism sector. The aim is to boost the arrival of German tourists to Morocco

A delegation composed of public and private tourism operators, under the direction of Adel El Fakir, General Director of ONMT, actively participates in the International Tourism Fair in Berlin (ITB Berlin) from March 5 to 7, 2024. The objective of this initiative is to strengthen Morocco's presence in the German market, one of the main tourism contributors in Europe.

For this edition of ITB Berlin, Morocco has focused on two of its flagship destinations, Agadir and Marrakech, in a dedicated space of 130m2. These cities, appreciated by German tourists, have been highlighted to strengthen their attractiveness

Adel El Fakir emphasized the strategic importance of the German market, representing more than 67 million trips, with 73% abroad, demonstrating a clear preference for Mediterranean destinations

In parallel to this event, ONMT has signed four collaboration agreements with significant operators. The first agreement has been closed with Der Touristik, the second-largest travel provider in the German market, with a portfolio of 6.5 million tourists. Alltours, an actor offering a wide selection of trips, has also sealed a deal. This company, with its client base of 2 million and a network of 171 travel agencies, provides a variety of options, from all-inclusive packages to tailor-made trips, including tours and cruises. Condor Airlines, one of the major German low-cost airlines specialized in holiday flights, has signed a collaboration agreement for the next three seasons. This agreement aims to secure flights to the seaside resort of Agadir from major emitting centers in Germany.

Finally, ONMT has established a collaboration with the German Travel Association (DRV), whose members account for the majority of sales in the tour operator and travel agent market in Germany. This agreement includes specific actions and annual visits from German distribution decision-makers to Morocco.

This proactive action by ONMT aims to stimulate Moroccan presence in the German market, paving the way for a significant increase in German tourist arrivals to Morocco in 2024 and beyond. ONMT has also organized strategic meetings with key players in the sector, further strengthening ties and opportunities for Moroccan tourism in the German market
