The Fashion Week in Togo came to an end, leaving an echo of creativity and innovation. For this 11th edition, the International Fashion Festival (FIMO 228) showcased bold collections that transcend stereotypes.

Among the present designers is the Nigerian Ejiro Amos-Tafiri. She captivated the audience with her luxurious, handmade creations inspired by the rich Nigerian traditions. Her commitment surpassed established norms, giving rise to unique pieces that unveil a contemporary vision of cultural heritage

Jean Rocard Yapo is another iconic designer of the event. Hailing from Abidjan, he created his own brand, which has become indispensable in Ivory Coast. For the FIMO, the Ivorian designer showcased a bold and minimalist approach to men's fashion. Yapo favored the use of raffia and pagne kita, emphasizing the importance of harnessing local resources to create unique creations

In a passionate statement, Yapo asserted that Africa has all the necessary resources to thrive and excel in the fashion industry. He emphasized the use of raffia, a material that reflects his culture, and pagne kita, woven by young Ivorians

The Festival was also marked by the eloquent remarks of Desmo, a designer present at the event to highlight the potential of African fashion and its constant evolution despite economic challenges

During this fashion week, FIMO highlighted the creations of around sixty designers, providing a crucial platform for emerging talents

Organized by Togolese designer Jacques Logoh, this annual showcase has proven to be an essential catalyst for the development of fashion in Africa. It provided designers with a valuable opportunity to showcase their work and contribute to the dynamic growth of the industry on the continent.
