Ethiopia is the second most populous country in Africa and will grow by more than 25% over the next decade. Currently, Ethiopia has more than $ 31 billion in active projects, of which more than $ 18 billion are under construction.

Grand Dam of the Ethiopian Renaissance

Once completed, the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam will be the largest hydroelectric plant in Africa. It will have an installed capacity of 6.4 gigawatts. Ethiopian Electric Power is the developer. Webuild SpA is the main contractor and Alstom supplies the electrical components.

Koysha Hydroelectric Power

The fourth hydroelectric plant on the Gibbe River Cascade, with a planned capacity of 2.1 Gigawatts, will be completed by the end of the year. Ethiopian Electric Power will be the power supplier, and the main contractor is Webuild SpA.

Lemmi Industrial Complex

It is jointly developed by East African Holding and West China Cement  in an area of 2.7 square kilometers at an estimated cost of $ 2.2 billion. Phase one of the project includes a ten thousand ton per year cement plant.

Awash – Kombolcha – Hara Gebaya Railway

The total length, including maintenance lines and connecting lines, will be 447 kilometers. There will be ten stations, twelve tunnels and fifty-six bridges required along the line.  

Yapı Merkezi Construction is the main contractor, while Systra and Arup provide design and project management services.

The Gare

The mixed-use development will provide four thousand housing units along with retail stores, three hotels and commercial facilities. Based in the United Arab Emirates 

Eagle Hills Properties is the lead developer on the project.
