In 2024, business creation in Morocco saw a slight increase, with a predominance of limited liability companies. Casablanca-Settat remains the most dynamic region, and commerce as well as construction dominate the sectors of activity.

In 2024, no less than 95,235 new companies were created, showing a slight increase of 1.5% compared to 2023, according to figures published by OMPIC. Among these creations, legal entities show significant growth with more than 67,000 new companies, representing a 5% increase. The single-member LLC and classic LLCs dominate, representing 64.7% and 34.5% of new registrations, respectively.

Casablanca-Settat leads business creation.

At the regional level, OMPIC highlights that Casablanca-Settat maintains its status as an economic engine, accounting for 39.1% of new companies. It is followed by Marrakech-Safi and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, which share the second position with 12.4% each, followed by Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (11.8%), Fez-Meknes (6.3%), and Souss-Massa (5.9%).

Commerce and construction lead the way.

New companies are mainly concentrated in the commerce sector (35.1%), followed by construction and real estate activities (19.2%), various services (18.2%), and transportation (8.1%). Industry (7.3%), hospitality and catering (5.6%), as well as the digital sector (2.8%), complete the rankings.

As for individual businesses, 27,700 new creations were registered in 2024. The Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region leads with 21.3% of new registrations, followed by the Oriental (12.3%), Casablanca-Settat (11.4%), and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (10%).
