The kingdom has presented the "Morocco Offer" for the development of the green hydrogen industry. The aim is to attract national and international investors to develop green hydrogen capabilities within its territory.

According to information detailed in a statement from the office of the Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, Morocco plans to allocate up to one million hectares (10,000 square kilometers) of land for green hydrogen projects as part of this offer.

A first portion of 300,000 hectares will be allocated in plots ranging from 10,000 to 30,000 hectares, depending on the size of the planned projects.

The "Morocco Offer" applies to integrated projects, from generating electricity from renewable energies and electrolysis, to transforming green hydrogen (ammonia, methanol, synthetic fuels, etc.), as well as related logistics.

The statement indicates that around one hundred domestic and foreign investors have already shown keen and effective interest.

Regarding hydrogen, Morocco estimates its domestic demand at 4 TWh per year by 2030. For the same horizon, the country aims for an export volume of 10 TWh (approximately 300,000 tons per year)
