The Director General of the National Center for Energy, Nuclear Sciences and Techniques (CNESTEN), Hamid Marah, and the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Mariano Grossi, signed two important partnership agreements on Monday in Vienna.

The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the 68th General Conference of the Agency.

The first agreement renews, for the period 2025-2029, the recognition of CNESTEN as an international collaborating center in the use of nuclear and isotopic techniques in three areas: water resource management, environmental protection, and industrial applications.

The second agreement relates to the development of competencies and capabilities in the areas of radiation safety, transport security, radioactive waste management, and nuclear safety. The aim is to meet Morocco's growing needs for socio-economic development through better sustainable management of its resources while continuing to share its knowledge and experience, especially with African countries.
