The Moroccan Pavilion at this major global tourism event has given a prominent place to the regions, dedicating space to showcase their great tourist potential and fully reveal their natural, heritage, and cultural attractions.
Through their stands, the regions offer a mosaic of authentic travel experiences and unique, unexpected discoveries that make Morocco a singular and trustworthy destination.
This year, the regions of Errachidia and Tangier, true emblems of the cultural and natural heritage of the Kingdom, receive special recognition. A good space has been reserved for them within the stand to highlight their unique attractions and showcase the richness of their territories.Partager
The Moroccan pavilion at this international fair showcases all the tourism opportunities offered by the Kingdom. It aims to serve as a showcase of excellence for a booming Moroccan tourism, celebrated Morocco's ambassador to Spain, Karima Benyaich.
This virtuous dynamic of national tourism is driven at the regional level by committed stakeholders, such as Rkia Alaoui, president of the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, who asserts that the regions are a true leverage to enhance the country's economic potential.
“We wanted to come in strong, with a delegation made up of elected officials, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, and the Regional Investment Council, because we are aware of the valuable opportunity that this type of event represents to promote our region, attract investors, and realize the Vision 2030 for tourism development,” explained in a statement to "MAP."
With enhanced air connectivity linking Tétouan to Spanish cities like Madrid, Málaga, and Seville, the Northern region stands out not only for its sunny beaches but also for its rich interior, featuring iconic places like Chefchaouen, “the blue pearl,” especially promoted in the Spanish market.
Further south, Drâa-Tafilalet stands out as a land of wonders, where the golden dunes of Merzouga attract a large number of visitors each year. “In 2024, over 10,000 tourists, mostly Spanish, explored the region, with Merzouga topping their favorite destinations,” stated Soufiane Bachar, representative of the CRT of Drâa-Tafilalet, to "MAP
The Marrakech-Safi region also ensured a prominent presence and very active participation at the Madrid fair. The goal is to solidify its position as the top destination for Spanish tourists in Morocco and to strengthen its leadership among international visitors.
Its president, Samir Goudar, stated that the participation of the Marrakech region with a significant delegation goes beyond promoting the ochre city. The aim is to support all Moroccan stakeholders present here in the spirit of fostering a collective dynamic for the flourishing of national tourism on a global scale, he said.
FITUR is the second international fair dedicated to the tourism industry and the leader in the Iberian and Latin American markets. Therefore, it serves as an ideal platform to promote the destination Morocco among major global players in the sector.
This year, FITUR features the participation of over 9,500 companies from 156 countries, and a record attendance is expected for both professionals (150,000) and visitors (100,000).
