Ivory Coast is in the process of creating a National Agency for the Security of Information Systems (ANSSI), an organization dedicated to cybersecurity.
The Council of Ministers approved a decree establishing the creation, powers, organization, and operation of the Agency.
"This agency consolidates all the responsibilities previously assigned to the various structures in charge of combating cybercrime, security, and the protection of information systems," said the Minister of Communication of Ivory Coast, government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly.
The ANSSI-CI will enable Ivory Coast to build a centralized and efficient cybersecurity network. The agency will be responsible for coordinating digital defense actions, conducting prevention operations, and ensuring a rapid response in the event of a crisis.
"The ANSSI is responsible for implementing action plans for the coordination and management of cybersecurity crises, coordinating the protection of critical infrastructures and public and private information systems, as well as leading the processes of prevention, protection, surveillance, detection, and incident response," Coulibaly added.
