The government has just approved the program for accelerating family agriculture and strengthening food security for 2023-2026.
This program, valued at over 85 billion kwanzas, aims to increase agricultural production and productivity, as well as the production of forest goods in a market-oriented family environment.
It also aims to strengthen technical training levels and expand financing for the family agriculture subsector in a decentralized, simple, and non-bureaucratic man
According to the Chairperson of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the Agricultural Development Support Fund (FADA), Felisbela Francisco, the program is aimed at family agricultural enterprises, including individual farmers, cooperatives, agricultural associations, micro and small businesses.
The manager justified the selection of beneficiaries because family agriculture plays a fundamental role in promoting diversification of national agricultural production and strengthening food security, being responsible for over 82% of the food products that make up the household's basic basket.
The program aims to strengthen the acceleration and diversification of agricultural production, focusing on mechanization of family agriculture and enhancing farmers' technical capacities, explained Felisbela Francisco, as quoted by the Angolan press agency.
