Togo: First results of the new agreement with the World Bank.

On July 12, the government of Togo signed three financing agreements with the World Bank, totaling approximately 298 million dollars (180 billion FCFA), to implement three key projects.

The Minister of Economy and Finance, Sani Yaya, and the World Bank Resident Representative, Fily Sissoko, were responsible for signing the documents during the presentation ceremony of the new partnership framework.

The first agreement, worth 120 billion FCFA (200 million dollars), is intended for the inclusive development project through access to electricity (IDEA), which will enable more than 1.5 million people, especially in rural areas, to have better access to electricity.

The second agreement, amounting to 45 billion FCFA (75 million dollars), focuses on the modernization and strengthening of the public administration to improve service delivery in Togo (PMADS), with an emphasis on simplifying procedures.

The third agreement, worth 14 billion FCFA (23 million dollars), aims to strengthen social cohesion in the northern part of the country, supporting refugees and host communities through the Social Cohesion Project in the Gulf of Guinea regions (COSO).

"These new financings kickstart the implementation of our new partnership framework with Togo, supporting transformative projects that will positively impact communities," said Fily Sissoko after the signing.
