Cameroon has become the top foreign buyer of oil from the Dangote refinery.
The first export of 60,000 tons of refined oil was destined for Neptune Oil, a major distributor and retailer in Central Africa.
The company stated that it is working with the refinery to establish "a reliable supply chain that helps stabilize fuel prices and opportunities" across the region
Aliko Dangote plans to export 56% of his total fuel production, despite challenges with crude oil supply threatening to hinder the refinery's operations.
The facility, with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day, began selling gasoline nationwide in September, with Nigeria's state oil company as the sole buyer.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has heavily relied on imports for domestic gasoline supply, but it hopes Dangote's operations will reduce this dependence and save crucial foreign exchange for the government.
